Celebration of beyond Emancipation

Beyond Emancipation is an organization that helps people who left foster care at age 21. Their mission is to help former foster children prepare for living independently. The organization provides housing, education, employment and life skills to the former foster care people. Every year they support 900 Alameda county youths. 50% of the former foster children will experience homelessness eventually. They have three houses in Oakland for former foster youths to live for 2 years before they get their own housing. As well as a stable living environment, the housing program also provides wraparound services and coaching.
